RISLEY LEARNING CENTER

    Risley Learning Center's Success Academy is a nontraditional public high school serving 182 students in grades 8.5 thru 12.  The diverse groups of students attending Risley Learning Center's Success Academy were identified as academically behind in their high school coursework.  By offering smaller class sizes and academic support through technology, Risley Learning Center's Success Academy administration and staff stive to provide an environment that will allow students to recover credits from previously attempted classes; gain credits from courses not yet attempted; and experice success.  Through dedication and hard work, students in grades 9 thru 12 are able to earn the credits needed to be on track to graduate with their class, and are then able to return to Brunswick High School or Glynn Academy at the end of the semester.  Students participating in the 8.5 program were identified by their CRCT scores as needing extra support before high school.  These students will spend their 8.5 year (or freshman year) at Risley Learning Center's Success Academy and will attend direct instruction classes in 9th grade Literature, Math 1, and Physical Science and will receive World Geography instruction through the new web based E2020 program, along witht he support of a classroom teacher.
