Parents * Out-of-Zone Application
Out-of-Zone Application Minimize

The deadline for out-of-zone attendance transfer requests for the 2008-2009 school year was April 15, 2008.  Out-of-zone requests will now be accepted only from new residents of Glynn County.

Attendance zones are set by the Board of Education based on housing patterns and population within the county.  Students are expected to attend the schools for which they are zoned; however, out-of-zone requests will be considered for specific circumstances.

Board of Education policy allows out-of-zone requests to maximize the use of school facilities, for extreme hardship cases, and for special education placement.  Out-of-zone placements are made for one year only and those who have received permission in the past must submit a new request form, which is available at all school sites, the Administration Building.  Parents should return the request form to the Administrative Services Office at 1313 Egmont Street in Brunswick, or mail the form to:  Glynn County Schools, Administrative Services, 1313 Egmont Street, Brunswick, GA 31520.  Mailed forms must be postmarked by April 15, 2008.

School bus transportation is not furnished for out-of-zone placements.

The out-of-zone transfer request application does not apply to the Academies of Choice program in the middle schools.  Parents interested in Academies of Choice should contact their child’s middle school.

For information about out-of-zone transfer requests, call the Administrative Services Office at 267-4100, ext. 1311.
