Hello Parents,
The month of November is another exciting and busy month at Altama. Our students are actively engaged in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. It is important that we continuously encourage them to do their best each day. We really appreciate you doing your part at home with homework and reading with your child every night. Another important tip is to have your child at school each day on time and staying until the end of the day to complete all academics.
Thanks to all of you for participating in the October Fest/Book Fair last month. We had a wonderful night filled with food, fun, and games. I hope you had a great time at the Book Fair selecting from many excellent book choices. National Children’s Book Week is Nov. 11-16. Please read the books you selected at the book fair and have a great book read with your child.
The PTA is working diligently to raise money for new playground equipment. This is a huge challenge and they need your help. If you receive a telephone call from a member of PTA, please volunteer for the planned activities. PTA dues are $3.00 per person. Please join! The money goes toward PTA projects to benefit our school.
Our character education words for the month are: citizenship, patriotism, and helpfulness. Each class has received the character book of the month: The Wall by Eve Bunting. All classes will work on a book project aligned with the character words. The projects will be displayed beginning November 19th. Please stop by the school to see the displays outside the Media Center.

- Nov. 9 All Pro Dads Breakfast at 7:30am in the gym

- Nov. 17 Trip to Jacksonville for the Jaguars game (All Pro Dads)

- Nov. 27 2nd 9 weeks Mid-Progress Report issued
