Objective 7d: Two new middle school facilities replacing Jane Macon Middle and Glynn Middle will be ready to open for the 2009-2010 school year. Objective 7e: The Golden Isles Career Academy will open in the fall of 2009. The district will recruit staff and students and keep all stakeholders informed about the progress of this school throughout the 2008-09 school year. The school district will partner with the Career Academy board and CEO to ensure a successful school opening. Objective 7g: The district will contract with the Ombudsman program of study to offer alternative opportunities for students in grades 6-12. The district will select and assign students to the program, providing them with a chance for redirection and an opportunity to pursue an alternative diploma pathway. Objective 7i: A Superintendent's Arts Advisory Council will be formed to promote the arts as an integral part of a student's education. The district web site will link to an Arts web site that will provide a calendar of events for visual and performing arts activities at middle and high schools.
