THE DEADLINE FOR OUT-OF-ZONE PLACEMENT APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2009-10 SCHOOL YEAR IS MARCH 1, 2009. OUT-OF-ZONE PLACEMENT REQUESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE.
Glynn County Board of Education policy JBCCA describes the process through which students are assigned to schools.
In part, policy JBCCA reads:
"All schools are divided by geographical territorial zones. These zones are set up by the administration with the approval of the Board of Education. Children who live within a school’s geographical zone will attend that school. Such zones may vary from year to year, depending upon housing patterns and shifting populations.
Students must attend the school for which they are zoned, however, under certain circumstances an out-of-zone placement may be granted."
