Superintendent's Resume

Michael P. Bull, Ph.D. is in his fourth year as superintendent of the Glynn County School System. The first years of his administration saw major accomplishments in the governance of the system and in student achievement. Working with the Board of Education, Dr. Bull's administration focused on administrative transparency and student achievement in the classroom. He implemented a proven four-step model for improving student achievement called "M.A.G.I.C." - Making Achievement Gains In Classrooms. The processes and results of the M.A.G.I.C. program are posted on this web site and on the web sites of individual schools in the system
With three years of M.A.G.I.C., the positive results experienced by Glynn County students are being recognized throughout the state. In September 2008, the Governor's Office of Student Achievement highlighted the exceptional gains that middle school students have made on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) since 2006. Nancy taught 10th grade mathematics while in the outback and enjoyed being 21 steps from the Indian Ocean. In addition, Nancy has had the unique experience of teaching 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students (all in one room) on Daufuskie Island, the same school made famous in Pat Conroy's The Water Is Wide. The couple also spent two years in an apartment over the Napi Gymnasium on the Blackfeet Native American Reservation near the Canadian border in Montana from 1999 - 2001. Nancy is now retired and enoys being a grandmother.
