The Board of Education represents the citizens of Glynn County.  To this end, the Board has set goals and expectations, as well as the means to achieve these results.  In addition, employees and community stakeholders have submitted their input (see link on the Glynn County Home Page).  Annual operational plans are being developed to meet each of the goals.  Evidence of meeting each goal is noted as the results will be the means of measuring our progress. 

Indicators of the importance placed on each objective by the Board are ranked by the number written inside the parenthesis at the end of each objective.  Evidence for objectives ranked as 1-3 will be reported through the Goals and Objectives site.  Evidence for objectives ranked 4 or 5 will be reported through the Goals and Objectives site as well as a presentation to the Board of Education (see Board Report Timeline link above).

An evaluation of the Glynn County School System efforts will be determined in the summer of 2006 and the Board will hold the Superintendent accountable and measure performance utilizing the following goals and objectives:

Goal 1: To successfully educate all students.

Objective 1: Provide online standards for mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies classes K-12. (5)

    Objective 3: Emphasize individual student achievement in language arts/reading, mathematics, science, and social studies through increases in test results as measured by the following assessments. (5)

    Objective 4: Develop quarterly pre- and post-assessments for grades 9-12 in mathematics, science, and social studies and benchmark assessments for language arts that will be implemented in the 2006-2007 school year; possibly as early as January 2006. (4)

    Objective 5: Identify subgroups and subjects which contributed to individual schools (Burroughs-Molette Elementary, Glynn Middle, Jane Macon Middle, Risley Middle, Glynn Academy) not making AYP in 2005 or in "needs improvement" in 2005 (BHS) and establish strategies to assure that all schools make AYP during the 2006-2007 school year.
