M.A.G.I.C. (Making Achievement Gains In Classrooms), which was brought to the Glynn County School System by Dr. Michael Bull in 2005, is a pre/post assessment tool used to monitor the progress of our students. The assessment is useful in determining each students' knowledge of the Georgia curriculum standards and is bridging the gap to student learning.

The four-step M.A.G.I.C. program begins by establishing standards and pacing guides for every grade. Prior to instruction the students are assessed (pre-tested) and the results are analyzed. Instruction, which is based on the pre-test results, is followed by a post-test. M.A.G.I.C. has proven to be a useful tool as our schools have made adequate yearly progress based on the criteria established in No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
M.A.G.I.C. results can be viewed on the Hallways website. The public has access to our curriculum standards, pacing guides, and test results which are reported by system, school, and teacher. The M.A.G.I.C. program is being used in several other Georgia counties, which have joined to form the M.A.G.I.C. Consortium. |
